This could so easily have become a heavy tale of danger and loss, but its lightness is delightful! I love the determined dragonfly attacking again and again until the bullfrog finally surrenders her beloved. A playful little story of courage, devotion, and love refusing to give up—with a wonderfully happy flight into the future.

Jacqueline, the dragonfly who repeatedly confronts the bullfrog gives this small tale its courageous heart. Love appears here as loyalty in motion, refusing to retreat while someone precious remains in danger. The final flight above the lake turns rescue into a shared future, beautifully matched by the brightness and movement of the illustration. Grateful for the imagination and sweetness with which you gave two tiny creatures such steadfast devotion.
