The ocean is so relaxing, always calling us back to watch the rhythmic waves as they slowly wash onto shore, folding their translucence back into the sea sleekly before our eyes, pulling the water back. A new wave swells before our eyes, crashes and runs out almost to our toes before it retreats. Meanwhile, the sun shines on the top of each wave in the distance to mesmerize us.
The salt air whispers in our ears of long ago romps in the sand, with our pail and shovel! Dig until you see water! Dig and pile sand high enough to form a castle, hoping it will stay upright for the next wave and the next! Nevertheless, our hopes and dreams are leveled by the next wave, leaving a level space for our next new creation!
The sting of a jellyfish, the cry of a seagull, saltwater in my mouth, the sun warming my face, the fragrance of coconut from my sunscreen, the wet sand in my my toes, as I pick up the next interesting shell, are all stimulating my senses!
Kaleidoscope colors of umbrellas dotting the sand, protecting us from sun burn and shading our books are a joy for me, a Jersey girl. I like it crowded at Sea Side Heights, or less crowded at Avalon with a hotel to see to your every need: lounge chair, umbrella, towel all free, waiters to serve you on the beach, Tiki bar, restaurant, pool and entertainment too! They have it all!
Or come to Cape May where the beautifully painted Victorian houses and mansions from the 1800s pull you away from the beach with their lush hydrangeas, daisies, flowering vines, , Daylilies, and hanging baskets galore. They make us feel dreamy, curious, content, or they may plant a seed of longing for the bygone days.
The pedestrian mall also calls us to outdoor restaurants with aromas afloat in the air and customers in outside tables having the greatest of fun. Or browse through delightful galleries, shops for crafts, art work, souvenirs of all kinds. Buy an ice cream cone or pizza! Buy a a light house, an angel, mermaid, sea horse jewelry box, statue or mug, or a bag of pristine shells, jewelry or fragrant soaps. Something that will remind you of the relaxing seashore the whole year through, must come home with you!

I'm loving this so much~! Of how sunny and alive this is~
Even when I'm not at the ocean, I feel it's pull. The smell of the salt air, the cry of the gulls, the crash of the waves. It's ancient. It's full of life. And it's healing in so many different ways!
